As IECs we recognize that each and every student is unique and has a very specific profile. The summer before entering Senior year we work with our student in three distinct areas:

The College Lists Development 

  • Begin a comprehensive understanding of your Seniors profile and college needs, wants and must-haves. 

  • Match college needs to profile, for ex: Fit vs Prestige , Fit vs Need  

  • Provide a basic overview of the college review process, what is holistic review etc. 

  • Strategically work on your college list on an ongoing basis until the student is clear and content with all choices. 

  • Learn how to Research Colleges and Universities offerings. 

  • Dialogue actively with student about the merits and qualities of each school on an ongoing basis until finalized.

The College Applications 

  • Advance preparation of the College Application and its basic elements. 

  • College Application positioning to reflect student strengths. 

  • Support your application process itself - review, fix mistakes, optimize  activity descriptions etc. 

  • Keep our student in advance of deadlines and  on target with the application process.

The College Essays 

  • Develop a calendar of deadlines well in advance of due dates. 

  • Essay coaching ranges from Brainstorming sessions to reviewing several drafts

  • Help with choosing essay topics 

  • Help with Supplemental essays and multi essay topics to highlight the applicant maximally. 

  • Help craft a well written essay that is authentic and has the student’s unique voice.
